(again, I'm no fan of AVID but I am a big fan of common sense and fairness). Protools used to be rock solid but starting with the release of HD v9 it's a bug riddled disaster. Im not endorsing piracy just that the only way to try a free trial is through piracy and that doesnt even work. I wanted to see what all the fuss was about and why its the industry standard.
Only way I could try Pro Tools without buying a ilok was to download a hack for it.Avid has nothing to worry about anyone pirating it as its not stable.I just downloaded it to see what the work flow was like and to check it out.Never got that answer as the hack made to unstable to even use. Im not buying a ilok just to try out pro tools. Yes you can download a trial version but you need a damn ilok. And play a variety of HD video formats (such as QuickTime, XDCAM, and more) and Avid DNxHD sequences directly in the Pro Tools timeline-without transcoding. AVID PRO TOOLS 12 Perpetual License (Activation & iLok 3 gen) - EUR 396,32.
Please insert the necessary iLok and restart Pro Tools.' I opened the iLok manager, signed in, inserted my iLok2 (blue light on solid), and the manager software reported that my iLok2 was 100% full, and that there were zero licenses activated on it.
